Mario Cards

In one of my classes at Humber College we had the whole semester to complete three conceptual designs. We had to show our process work and present the final design to the class. What I loved about this class was that for the first time we could design anything we wanted. I have always been a big Mario Bros fan, playing the games since I was little. I also love decks of cards and see them as a big design opportunity. Since there are four suits, you can get really creative.

My whole concept would blend these ideas together using the four most popular “good” guys/characters along with their female match. Those would be used as the highest royals; the King and Queen. The suits would still be used but I wanted to throw in a sprinkle of other Mario elements such as the shells and mushrooms. I had a wonderful time creating this concept and was proud of the result.
